William Edward Burns, 80, of The Villages, Florida, passed from this life Thursday, October 9, 2014. Born in Decatur, IL, he was the son of the late Robert and Helen Burns. William was an Army veteran, and an insurance and real estate broker. William moved to The Villages in 1998. He was very creative by nature and enjoyed gardening and current events. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Robert and his sister, Barbara. He leaves three sons, William E. Burns, Jr.(Traci) of Apopka, FL, Robert C. Burns (Laura) of Wildwood, FL, and Todd B. Burns (Amanda) and granddaughter, Tegan Rose of Lady Lake, FL. William always thought of his family before himself and did so to the end. Funeral services will be private with burial in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project are welcomed.
