A golf cart backed into an SUV at about 11 a.m. Saturday on St. Charles Place at Buena Vista Boulevard.
Both vehicles sustained minor damage and no one was transported from the scene.
The accident occurred a short distance from The Villages Public Safety station so the response from emergency personnel was swift.
Sumter County sheriff’s deputies and paramedics talked with the man to be sure it was safe for him to drive his cart home.
Community Watch staff re-routed oncoming St. Charles Place traffic through a parking lot for a short time until the street was cleared.
