A 68-year-old Ohio woman who was a passenger on a motorcycle died following an accident Thursday evening in Sumter County.
Frances Ann Gilbert of Ravenna, Ohio died at Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center in Hudson. She had been a passenger on a motorcycle driven by 71-year-old James Edward Gilbert, also of Ravenna, Ohio. He was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center following the accident.
The motorcycle collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Joseph Hines, 53, of Brooksville.
The accident occurred on County Road 48 at County Road 616 in Bushnell, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Neither of the Gilberts were wearing helmets, the FHP report noted.
