Villager Lowell Barker took the oath Wednesday afternoon as the newest member of the Amenity Authority Committee.
His wife of 57 years, Nancy, was by his side when he was sworn in before the Village Center District Development Board.
He was elected Nov. 4 to succeed Jo Weber. He will represent the Lady Lake/Lake County portion of The Villages.
It is his first-ever elected position.
“Not even class president,” he joked after taking the oath.
