To the Editor:
If Mr. Bell wants an enclosed pool then let Mr. Bell pay for it. Look at the fiasco he and the rest of the AAC have cost our Amenity Fees in the purchase of the El Santiago Restaurant. Rich Lambrecht was the only member who went out to look the place over and recommended NOT buying it. Did Mr. Bell check the building out? NO. If Mr. Bell gets his way then who would be allowed to use the pool? It’s status as a Family Pool would no longer exist. The Santiago Pool is the only Family Pool and/or Neighbor Pool serving at least 4 Villages. Chatham, Rio Grande, Pimlico and further south would be the closest Family Pools. Enclose a sports pool, that’s where people go to exercise and swim now and are already equipped with locker rooms and showers. Is this why a new Rec Center is being built? Now he has a building for conversion into locker rooms and showers. Think back, all that was asked for were indoor bathrooms in the existing Center. $$$$$$ coming soon.
