Bank of America files paperwork for site at Pinellas Plaza

Bank of America is the latest bank trying to move into Pinellas Plaza in The Villages.

Community Bank & Trust of Florida and Citizens First Bank have locations up and operating at Pinellas Plaza and other banks are building there.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based bank filed an application with the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of the Comptroller of the Currency on Nov. 6. The comment period will run now through Dec. 5.

Bank of America is the second-largest bank in Central Florida, with 65 area branches, $7.6 billion in local deposits and a 19.8 percent market share.
