Two juveniles were arrested by Ocala police officers after a man was shot with a pellet gun and his car stolen Sunday night from the Olive Garden Restaurant on College Road in Ocala.

Officers responded to a report of a carjacking incident at 10:30 p.m. where the victim told police that he had been sitting in his 2009 Volkswagen Jetta in the parking lot of the restaurant when he was approached by two black males. Both had handguns and ordered the victim out of his vehicle.  The suspects took his money and got into his car. Before driving away, they shot him in the shoulder with their pellet guns, according to a report from the Ocala Police Department.

Taken into custody were 15-year-old Wendell Curcio and 14-year-old Kevin Charbonier.

The two admitted to police they had also approached and ordered a woman out of her car at La Cuisine Restaurant in Ocala earlier that evening. They also admitted that they had attempted to steal a 2014 Toyota Corolla from the Ocala Ice Rink on Dec. 10, but in that case neither one of them had been able to drive the standard shift car, so they walked away with the victim’s wallet, cell phone and cup holder of change.

The pair are facing charges of carjacking, auto theft, robbery with a weapon and auto burglary.

They were transported to the Juvenile Division of the Marion County Jail.
