The Aloha ‘O Ka Hula Dance Troupe “rang” the bells for the Salvation Army on Wednesday at Wal-Mart at the Buffalo Ridge shopping center.
This is the sixth year the group has volunteered for the Salvation Army.
“The Troupe loves donating their time during the busy holiday season to give to the less fortunate,” said Villager Violet Ray who dances with the troupe
“We really enjoy ringing the bells, it puts us in the Christmas spirit of giving. We bring a boom box and play Christmas music, both Hawaiian and traditional while we jiggle the bells. The people love it and I think it helps with getting donations. Of course, we get several requests to dance the hula and we oblige and give them a few steps.”
