An 88-year-old Ocala man was killed in a two-vehicle collision after he apparently stopped in the middle of the road after suffering a medical condition.
John Haley was pronounced dead at West Marion Hospital following the accident which took place at 3:30 p.m. Friday at SW 62nd Avenue Road and South of SW 103rd Street Road in Marion County, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Lola J. Morris, 69, also of Ocala, had recognized Haley was having a medical condition, stopped her 2004 Chevy pickup and attempted to help.
Haley’s foot slipped off the brake
and hit the gas. His vehicle collided with Morris’ pickup.
She was not injured.
