
Margaret “Maggie” Rostron, 89, of Quincy, Illinois, formerly of The Villages, Florida, died at 4:35 p.m. Saturday (January 3, 2015) in Sunset Home in Quincy.
Born October 8, 1925 in Plainville, Illinois, Maggie was the daughter of Harry Edward and A. LaVeta Crim Kabrick. She married Norman L. Rostron on April 23, 1944 in Plainville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2001. In 1954, Maggie and her husband Norman moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she was employed as a Secretary with the Duval County Public Schools. She moved to The Villages in 1988, following her retirement. She returned to Quincy in 2011 when she entered Sunset Home. Maggie was an active member of the Chapel of Christian Faith where she was the Music Director and was involved with Right to Life. Maggie had a heart for helping others, especially those in her church family. She will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Weisinger (Clif) of Quincy; a son, Terry Rostron (Linda) of St. Charles, MO; three grandchildren, John Weisinger (Libbi) of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Chad Weisinger of Euless, TX and Tracy Adams (Barry) of Mountain Home, AR; seven great grandchildren, Blair Weisinger, Leah Weisinger, Ashleigh Mayfield, Lauren Adams, Alixandria Adams, Joshua Few and Eric Few; a sister, Helen Siepker of Plainville, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews. Maggie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman; a granddaughter in law, Cynthia Weisinger; and two brothers Ed Kabrick (Dorothy) and Wallace Kabrick (Kay). Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Visitation will be held from 9 – 10 a.m., at The Christian Chapel Faith, 1401 Paradise Drive, The Villages, FL 32159.
