Sumter County officials will cut the ribbon Tuesday on a new fire station located at 10660 SW 53rd Terrace in Bushnell.
The event is set for 3 p.m.
The Sumter County Board of County Commissioners awarded the contract for construction of the Southwest Bushnell Fire Station to Wagner 3 Ventures on March 11, 2014. The construction cost of the project, including furnishings and equipment, was $1,681,761.
The architect for the project is Lunz, Prebor, Fowler Architects. The construction manager is URS, Inc. The new fire station was designed to service the southwest quadrant of Sumter County. It will provide 24-hour occupancy for round-the-clock emergency services to the area. The new facility is 7,000 square feet in area with three pull-through apparatus bays and a living area containing a kitchen, dormitory, day room, office/training area, laundry and fitness room.
