Patricia Joy Betts, 80, of Lady Lake, FL passed away Monday February 16, 2015 in The Villages, Fl. She was born in Elgin, IL and was a winter resident of Lady Lake for the past 24 years. She was of the Methodist Faith. Mrs. Betts was a retired teacher, teaching various grade levels and became a children’s librarian at the end of her working career. She also taught swimming and lifesaving classes. Her love was collecting children’s books and distributing them to others so that her love of reading was shared. She enjoyed outdoors, swimming, hiking, canoeing, and camping being outdoors as much as possible and loved traveling taking all the back roads enjoying all the gifts of nature. She is survived by her husband: John P. Betts, Lady Lake, FL, Sons: David Betts, Lombard, IL, Steven Betts, Phoenix, AZ, Sister: Pam Ames, Chicago, IL and 3 Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Michael Allen Betts. A Celebration of Life will be held at her lake home in Indiana in the Spring.
