Michael McGonigal of Leesburg was working for Lester Painting Incorporated on Jan. 21 when he used a pressure washer to clean the structure on Spanish Springs Town Square which is being converted to the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center.

On Feb. 3, he reported to his boss that the pressure washer was missing, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

When he was arrested, McGonigal told police that he had only “borrowed” the pressure washer and someone else had stolen it from him, the arrest report indicated.

The pressure washer was valued at $1,549.

McGonigal was booked Tuesday at the Lake County Jail where he later posted $2,000 bond and was released. He is due for arraignment March 16 in Lake County Court.
