A 41-year-old Oxford man was arrested after he allegedly threatened to attack a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy.
The deputy had been dispatched at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to a residence on County Road 201 where Kristian Michael Lowrance was laying in the grass shouting, according to an arrest report. The deputy had been dispatched to the same address earlier in the evening where Lowrance had been observed drinking beer and arguing with another person.
On the second call to the area, Lowrance threatened to attack the deputy. Lowrance was placed in handcuffs and put in the back of a patrol car where he began kicking the door and banging his head against the window. He continued to threaten the deputy and made remarks about hurting other members of law enforcement.
He was arrested on charges of simple assault, resisting an officer and disorderly intoxication. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $2,150 bond.
