The new club “The Village Friends” held their first annual Mardi Gras Party at Churchill Street Recreation Center.
Masks, beads, formal dress and costumes made this year’s party live up to the party’s theme “Laissez les bons temps rouler” or “Let The Good Times Roll.” Entertainment was provided by master musician Steve Robinson who featured Dixieland Jazz mixed with party favorite tunes for dancing.
“You would think Louis Armstrong was in the room,” said Village of Mallory resident Charles Dunn, an organizer of the event which was held Tuesday evening.
As “When Saints go Marching In” kicked in, the umbrellas came out with revelers marching around the room, he said.
“The Mardi Gras decorations and atmosphere made this a tremendous success and a night to remember which was sold out,” he said.
