Eldon Otto Genschorck, 78, passed away Friday February 20, 2015. He was an avid golfer and was very fortunate to have shot not one, but six Holes in One and he shot his age 10 times during his lifetime. He served his country in the US Army and the Army Reserves. His career with Mobil Oil spanned 34 years. He and his wife Shirley enjoyed fifty years of square dancing and were most recently members of the Orange Blossom Squares and frequently performed in exhibitions with the Orange Blossom Specials. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Fruitland Park. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Kay Genschorck; his parents, Otto and Laura Minge Genschorck; and a sister, Patricia Livergood. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley; daughters, Kristin deVos (Lee), and Lara Suman (Steve Chockla); two grandchildren, Marcus and Lucas deVos; brother, Dean Genschorck; sister, Carol Hill and extended family. The family requests memorial contributions be made to The Building Fund of Community United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends Monday, February 23, 2015 from 2 – 4 p.m. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Community United Methodist Church, Fruitland Park with Rev. Michael Fordham officiating. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
