At 4 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of County Road 466 and County Road 103, near The Villages Charter Elementary School and Perkins Restaurant, a white lawn service pickup with an open trailer hitch appeared to have sideswiped two vehicles stopped for the red light.

All three vehicles were headed west (toward SR 301). All three drivers reported minor injuries but declined transport.

A truck pulling a trailer was one of three vehicles involved in the accident.

Eyewitness Juanita Janelles, from the Charter School, said the pickup either couldn’t stop, or more likely the driver was distracted or not paying attention.

“He drove full speed right in between the two other vehicles and hit them both,” she said. “It looked like he couldn’t stop or maybe he wasn’t paying attention.”

The white Dodge Durango, to the trailer’s right, sustained rear passenger side fender and wheel damage; and the smaller sedan, to the trailer’s left, sustained damage to the passenger side door, rear bumper and wheel. Neither vehicle could be driven from the scene.
