Lynda Jayne Forberg
Lynda Jayne Forberg

Lynda Jayne Forberg, 75, entered eternal life on April 2 at her beloved home in The Villages, Florida. Lynda was born on July 6th, 1939, grew up in Queens, NY and later moved to Brentwood Long Island to start and raise her family. Lynda was a proud graduate of The Mary Louis Academy in the spring of 1957. Lynda is survived by her husband and Best Friend of 49 years, Richard F. Forberg; son Robert and wife Nancy, son Richard and wife Cherisse and daughter Kristine and husband Nicholas. She was also the loving grandmother to John, Ryan, Kyle, Ethan, Nicholas, Caitlin and is also survived by an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life. Lynda Jayne Forberg will be remembered for her infectious smile, the love of laughter (often at herself) and most of all, her willingness to put the needs of others before her own. Lynda set the standard for the modern mother and wife. Lynda managed to work full time while raising her family, helped her husband graduate college, never missed a soccer game, gymnastics meet or lacrosse game and yet somehow always set the dinner table with a homemade gourmet meal. Lynda also had a passion for family vacations and traveling abroad. Travel ranged from her early stays at Eastover, drives across country, trips to France, the beaches of Delray, and finally swimming with stingrays in Grand Cayman at age 70. She could always be counted on to prearrange all vacations in fine detail, planning hotels and meals right down to the number of miles we would drive each day. Lynda was also the person everyone sought out during their times of need, always willing to listen to their individual hardships, ready to dispense advice or just being a shoulder to cry on if so needed. Lynda understood these small expressions of kindness would have an enormously positive impact on the people in her life. Above all else, Lynda set the example for all of us by the way she lived her life. Lynda realized what matters most are the people in our lives and that the pleasure and positive memories afforded by great experiences far outweigh material belongings. Life is short. We should enjoy it. Create more fun in your life. Don’t worry about what other people think of your fun. Just enjoy it. Lynda did and it was a great ride!! We will miss her greatly and all our lives are better for having had Lynda a part of it. A Celebration of Lynda’s Life will be held at Beyer’s Funeral Home in Lady Lake, Florida on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 2 – 4 p.m.
