The third annual “Above Par for Animals” Golf Ball Drop will be held Saturday, April 18 at the George Nahas Chevrolet dealership in Wildwood. Tickets for the chance to win any of the four grand prizes valued over $2,500 and Chinese auction tickets are available at local businesses and at the day of the event. The numbered golf balls will be dropped at approximately noon from a hot air balloon over the Chevrolet dealership.
The four closest golf balls in or nearest to the main hole will be awarded grand prizes exceeding $2,500. First prize is a $2,000 pre-owned golf cart. Second prize is a $500 gift card. Third prize is a Deluxe Multi-burner BBQ Grill and 4th prize is a 7-inch Tablet/case. Silent auction items include a Disney Parkhopper 4 Pack Admission Tickets nearing $500 in value and a Fun Spot Theme Parks Family Package for $300, jewelry, fine art, in addition to many gift certificates and baskets to be among the many great contributions of local businesses.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Local bands The Sunset Band and Last Tyme Out will be entertaining plus WVLG radio will be doing a live broadcast from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Sumter County Sheriff’s K9 Unit will be demonstrating their skilled team tactics. Creativity will be drawn out of local caricaturist John Burgess while The Villages Dynamic Dog Drill Team will also perform with their talented canine dance partners.
