Nancy Louko Quaif, of The Villages, FL, passed away suddenly on April 17, 2015. Nancy was born Nancy Cheryl Louko in Van Etten, NY to parents Eino and Barbara Louko. She attended the Van Etten Central School District and later the State University of New York at Cortland. She spent most of her life in the Ithaca-Cortland-Dryden, NY areas, working as a social worker and caring for the elderly until moving to The Villages, FL in 2012. She was a loving and caring wife of Dick for 34 years, and they enjoyed traveling in their motor home with their dogs. Her favorite destination was Bar Harbour, ME, where they parked the RV right next to the beach. Nancy was a member of the Finger Lakes Finns organization and loved learning about the history and culture of Finland. She was also a huge animal lover, in particular their beloved dogs Brisbane and Darwin; and, was a supporter of several animal shelters. Nancy loved to read and learn; and, will be remembered by her family as an outstanding individual and a great cook. She is survived by her loving husband Richard (Dick) Quaif, her son Bob Cannavino of Cortland, NY; her sisters Janine Louko Ferel of Boynton Beach, FL and Linda Louko, of Iowa City, IA; her nephews Will, and his sons Nicholas and Nathan Ferel all of Boynton Beach, FL; and, her nieces Olivia Louko and Halle Louko of Iowa City, IA, as well as many cousins and friends. Memorial service and interment will be held at a later date in New York State.
