Two organizations in the Villages have come together to provide a safer environment in the community. The 57 members of the Noon Rotary Club, which meets at Tierra Del Sol Country Club, donated $1,000 to The Community Emergency Response Team of The Villages to enable CERT to continue to expand their mission of providing continuing CPR and Automatic External Defibrillator training to CERT members, Honor Flight Guardians and other residents of the Villages for free.
The check was presented by Rotarian Dick Bellerose, who is a member of both organizations, to enable CERT to purchase two more CPR manikins and two more AEDs for training purposes. Bellerose said the Rotary Club felt as if the money was going to be spent on a project that met Rotary International’s commitment of providing humanitarian services to fellow members of the planet. Following the presentation Bob McMahon, an instructor for CERT demonstrated the proper use of an AED to the Rotarians.
