Gerald “Jerry” Stevens, 81, of The Villages, FL, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 10, 2015. Formerly of Plymouth, MI, Jerry served as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne during the Korean conflict. He then taught special education for over 25 years at Hawthorn Center in Northville, MI. He retired to the Villages in 1989 and was a Starter at the Hilltop Golf Course for over 23 years. He is survived by his wife Mary of nearly 58 years, his son Scott of Pearland, TX, his daughter Cindy, of Waterford, MI, 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday May 14, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 17330 South Highway 441, Summerfield, FL 34491. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jerry can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church (17330 South Highway 441, Summerfield, FL 34491), where he served faithfully on the building and stewardship committees and was an usher and Head Trustee.
