The Rev. R. Wayne Ogg has been ordained to the Order of Priest at Christ the King Anglican Church in Linwood, N.C. by Archbishop Peter D. Robinson, presiding bishop of The United Episcopal Church of North America.
Rev. Ogg has established and will be the priest in charge of Grace Anglican Church Mission in The Villages.
The future home of Grace Anglican Church will be a property that is being purchased on East County Road 462 in Wildwood. Currently services are being held in Rev. Ogg’s home pending purchase of the property and renovations to the existing building. A new building is being planned for the site on East CR 462.
“The ordination of Rev. Ogg continues the apostolic succession started by our Lord Jesus Christ when He sent the Apostles out into the world. As priest in charge at the new Grace Anglican Church, Rev. Ogg will offer the communities of Wildwood and The Villages the worship experience that only the time honored liturgy of the Church can provide,” Archbishop Robinson said.
Since purchasing a home in The Villages in 2004, the Rev. Ogg worked as a recreation services representative at Savannah Center. Prior to joining the Recreation Department he was the vice president of human resources for the Americas Region of Getronics where Mr. Ogg was responsible for all aspects of the human resource function and employment law in the Americas Region. He was with Getronics and the predecessor companies for 17 years. Originally with the Canadian division, Ogg moved to the United States in 1991 to take the human resources lead role in the companies NA mergers and acquisitions activity while also providing support to the FMS business unit. Prior to joining Honeywell/Bull, a Getronics predecessor, Mr. Ogg worked for Allied Signal Aerospace in their Toronto Canada electronics manufacturing division. Rev. Ogg attended York University and Seneca College in Canada. He earned his accreditation as a Certified Human Resource Professional in 1988. More recently he has studied at St. Joseph of Arimathea Anglican Theological College in Berkeley, Calif.
