Golf cart driver suffers injury in accident on multi-modal path
The woman driving this golf cart suffered a head injury and was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

The driver of a golf cart was transported by ambulance from the scene of an accident at about 9:15 a.m. Monday on the multi-modal path that parallels County Road 466A.

The woman driving the golf cart hit a palm tree and was ejected from the vehicle, hitting her head to the ground, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident occurred on the multi-modal path south of CR 466A about one mile west of Morse Boulevard. The section of multi-modal path was the single, eastbound lane with an island in the center.

The woman was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

In addition to the sheriff’s office, Villages Public Safety and Community Watch responded to the scene.
