A 44-year-old Chilean man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence following a golf cart accident at about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday in The Villages.
A series of minor accidents occurred on the multi-modal path and tunnel near Buena Vista Boulevard and Stillwater Trail.
Taken into custody on a charge of driving under the influence was Icaro Constenta-Carillo, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Constenta-Carillo reportedly has been visiting family in The Villages. He is from Chile, according to the sheriff’s office.
Thegolf cars involved in the accident this morning appeared to have suffered little damage.
The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
