An 86-year-old Villager and his 85-year-old wife were transported by ambulance to The Villages Regional Hospital after they were thrown from their golf cart when it was struck by a pickup.
John J. Miller and his wife Lois had been traveling in their golf cart at 2:20 p.m. June 18 on Bichara Boulevard when their golf cart was struck by a 2007 GMC pickup driven by John M. Killman, 51, of Lady Lake, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
Killman had failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the golf cart broadside, the report indicated.
Killman was ticketed on a charge of careless driving.
