
Alverta Marie “Bert” Carouge, 85, of The Villages, Florida passed away July 31, 2015 at 1:31pm at Shore Regional Medical Center in Easton Maryland. She was born on October 2, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland to Frank and Marie (Ruth) Zaworski. Bert was a very religious woman, and always loved working with the church. She was the administrative assistant at St Josephs Parish in Maryland for decades prior to her retirement. Bert was active in the Villages as well at St Mark the Evangelist, serving as an eucharistic minister, participating in the ladies guild and she took pride in helping run the annual fundraising events, in particular the golf cart raffle. She loved living in the Villages and enjoyed playing golf, water aerobics and the social aspects of the community. Bert is survived by, her sons, W. Scot Carouge (Jackie), M. Kevin Carouge (Laurie), David P Carouge (Kelley) and grandchildren; Elysha Carouge, Trevor Carouge (Candace), Mason Carouge (Catherine), Caitlin Carouge, Stefan Carouge and nieces Sheran Sadler, Joyce Muir, and nephew Warren Zaworski. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William Frank Carouge Jr. The family will receive friends at Hiers Baxley Funeral Home in the Villages on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 3 – 6 p.m. Funeral services will be at St. Marks the Evangelist on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Sebastian Hanks officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Ocala FL following the service. Memorial donations may be made in the name of Alverta Carouge to St. Marks the Evangelist Church.
