SYNERGY 16  MULBERRY 3

Leading 5-2 going into the 7th inning, Synergy dropped 14 runs on Mulberry to pull into a tie for first place with them going into the last week of the season. Synergy holds the tie breaker over Mulberry having defeated them twice during the season. The big win was paced by Jeff Bekasi, Don Mulneix and Rick Duemler (4 RBI’s) who each had 3 hits. Ed DeMaio added a 2 run homer. Mulberry’s bats were quiet in the loss with only Bob Roth and Tom Bortle getting 2 hits each.

 

HARLAN 7  HUMANA 2

Pitcher/Sponsor Bruce Harlan and Bill Naasz (2 RBI’s) led this win with 3 hits each.  In addition, Chuck Alexander and Jack Nagle (2 RBI’s) added 2 hits each. In the loss, Humana did not have any player with more than 1 hit. Lew Burhans drove in both runs with a double.

 

FROSS & FROSS 32  IHOP 26 – In 8 Innings

Tied at 18 to 18 after 7 innings, Fross unloaded for 14 runs in the 8th to secure the victory. They were led by Al Mahar and Dave Pope (7 RBI’s) who each had 5 hits while pitcher Jim Moyer, Craig Dahlquist (4 RBI’s) and Al DuBuc (5 RBI’s) each chipped in with 4 hits. Bill Landis  had 3 hits and 4 RBI’s. IHOP scored 9 runs in the 8th but their rally fell short. They got 4 hits each from Denis Hodge, Tom Bolte (3 RBI’s) and Jim Crabtree (2 RBI’s). They also got 3 hits and 5 RBI’s from both Bill Reed and Bob DePace.  Mark Goodwin added a 3 run homer in the loss.
