The Amenity Authority Committee has voted to give the Developer 300 additional amenity packages.
The amenities will be used for residents in assisted living, independent living and skilled nursing facilities being constructed in The Villages.
Extending amenity opportunities is seen as a way to ease the transition for residents who are already Villagers. It also makes facilities which are able to offer amenity packages more attractive to potential residents.
However, the reality has been that the residents in those facilities use Villages amenities far less. The income from the amenity packages exceeds the actual costs, according to District officials.
