An Amenity Authority Committee has dropped his request to have the Chula Vista swimming pool open a half hour earlier.
AAC member Lowell Barker had put forth the idea after hearing from residents who wanted to see the pool open at 7 a.m. instead of 7:30 a.m.
Director of Recreation John Rohan cautioned against the idea as it could cause confusion among residents. The more than 70 pools in The Villages open at 7:30 a.m.
“As soon as we move one pool to 7 we may get requests to open other pools early,” Rohan said.
He said changing opening times could have an impact on pool cleaning companies and also noted that Daylight Savings Time is right around the corner.
