A motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital Wednesday after a collision that temporarily blocked traffic on U.S. 301 in Summerfield.
The collision took place in the early afternoon on U.S. 301 and SE 151st Street. The motorcyclist was thrown from his motorcycle in the collision.
Marion County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and stabilized the motorcyclist before transport.
Firefighters worked to clear the total lane blockage and re-opened U.S. 301 in both directions.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
