Sheron Thomas “Tom” Wheelus, Jr., 69, of The Villages, FL, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 20215. He was the husband of Barbara Wheelus for 43 years. Born in Atlanta, GA he was a son of the late, Sheron T. and Flora Wheelus. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. Tom and Barbara moved to Florida in 1981 from Georgia. He was a member of the United Church of Christ of The Villages. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Barbara and daughters: LaDonna Zimmerman (Jeff) of East Lake Weir, FL; Brenda Crellen of Lady Lake, FL and Tina Waller (Chris) of Douglasville, GA. He has 4 grandchildren: Spencer Sullivan; Sam Sullivan; Lauren Bridges and Shane Sullivan. He is also survived by sisters: Barbara Sumlin of Stockbridge, GA and Sherry Doster of Conyers, GA and brother: David Wheelus (Debbie) of Conyers, GA and many nieces and nephews all of which he loved and adored. And his beloved English Bulldog, Bonnie. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. at The United Church of Christ of The Villages. Friends may call from 10 – 11 a.m. at the church. Entombment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, FL with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 347. Contributions in Tom’s memory may be made to Cornerstone Hospice in lieu of flowers and would be greatly appreciated.
