
James Alexander Milligan, 77, of The Villages, FL passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 18, 2015 after a long and heroic battle with ALS. Beloved husband of Joyce (Manna) Milligan. Loving father of Susan Koelsch and her husband Chris, Kevin Milligan, Diane Coulstring and Donna J. Milligan. Loving grandfather to Madison Milligan, Christine Coulstring, Jenny Coulstring, and Jeff Coulstring, and step-grandfather to Cari Schafer and Pete Koelsch. Great grandfather to Jaylyn Coulstring. Loving son of deceased parents Helen and Daniel Milligan, loving brother to Doris Barry, Claire McGourty, and five deceased brothers and sisters, Alexander Milligan, Robert Milligan, Daniel Milligan, Helen Kupsc and Edna Bostick. Loving brother-in-law of Dick and June O’Brien, Jim and Ingrid Manna and Jay Manna. Adored uncle to several nieces and nephews. He was born on October 27, 1937 in Boston, MA and worked for Boston Edison Company as an Overhead Line Supervisor for 40 years. Jim truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed racquetball, scuba diving, tennis, golf, and sailing where you would hear “TOAST”. Favorite pastimes were sailing with Joyce to Maine on Salubrious, spending time at the Satuit Boat Club, golfing with Betsy’s Sunday group and with the guys from WHMEG. In lieu of flowers, donations made payable in Jim’s memory to the Jimmy Milligan Hope Fund will help other patients in need of private nursing care.
