Robert Eugene Carter, 70, of The Villages, Florida passed away October 26, 2015 in his home. He was the husband of Eleanor Carter for years. He was born in Detroit, Michigan he was a son of the late Robert E. and Ann Marie Carter, II. Prior to his retirement he was a Manager in the wholesale grocery industry. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War. He loved The Villages lifestyle playing Bocce, Trivia Nights, Race Nights and Wine Bingo. He was a encyclopedia of sports knowledge. He enjoyed watching sports on TV as well as in person. In earlier times he liked to bowl and he had a tryout as a pitcher with the Detroit Tigers. Robert will be deeply missed by his wife, Eleanor and sons: Terry Carter of Alabama, Jonathon D. Douglas of Michigan and daughter: Elizabeth A. Durbin of Colorado. He has 7 grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers: James Carter and Michael Carter and sister: Patricia Turri all of Michigan.
