A woman was transported by ambulance to Leesburg Regional Medical Center on Wednesday morning after her golf cart was rear-ended by another golf cart on Pinellas Place in The Villages.
The woman had stopped to ask for directions from a pedestrian at about 11 a.m. on Pinellas Place near French Oak Avenue, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A man in a golf cart behind her, dropped a piece of paper, reached down to pick it up and did not see that the golf cart ahead of him had stopped.
In addition to the sheriff’s office, the Villages Public Safety Department and Rural/Metro Ambulance responded to the scene of the accident.
