The Syrian refugee debate

Refugees from Syria are front and center of another national debate that has lines drawn by Progressives and Conservatives in this country. Progressives, including this President, regurgitate the usual inflammatory name calling…including UNAMERICAN, SHAMEFUL, HATEFUL, STUPID, XENOPHOBES and POLITICAL EXTREMISTS…to those who oppose taking un-vetted refugees for fear of including ISIL sympathizers…AS WELL AS ADDING TO OUR WELFARE ROLLS.

President Obama, in his usual pick-and-choose approach to the Constitution, cites his authority to enforce immigration laws as a Federal responsibility in response to many governors who said they would not accept refugees from Syria. No one challenges why he wipes his feet on those same laws as it applies to Mexico. Perhaps he will place the first wave in his hometown of Chicago and the hometowns of Ms. Clinton and Socialist Bernie.

The refugees, in case you have been on vacation the past few years, are the direct result of the atrocities of ISIL…the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant…in Syria and Iraq. Indirectly, they are the result of marginalizing of the Baathists under Sadaam Hussein and the Sunni’s by a Shia led Government in Baghdad…assisted by the United States and its coalition forces.

Can the ISIL forces and their growing influence be defeated by force?

  • Not by an Iraqi army that has been trained for fourteen years by American forces and who, like cowards, turned over massive American military equipment and supplies in a battle at Mosul. We should have learned our lesson from our first war with Iraq against the highly vaunted Revolutionary Guard who General Schwarzkopf exposed as cowards with his invasion.
  • Not by a President whose “Rules of Engagement” are so restrictive, ISIL moves with impunity. He is not alone in the recent leadership, or lack thereof, in the United States. Johnson did it in Viet Nam, Reagan did it Lebanon, Clinton did it in Africa, and Bush did it in Iraq and now Obama.

Rather than argue about refugees here at home we can have a huge effect on how ISIL is funded. The number one source of funds for this radical Islamic group of terrorists comes from the oil fields they have control over in Iraq and Syria. They, then, transport the oil across the Syrian border where Turkey (our NATO ally) and other countries purchase this cheap oil. By the way, these same oil fields are operated by Western oil companies who have invested billions in the drilling. What should we do?

  • Withdraw all Western civilian oil company employees from the fields and destroy the oil wells as a source of income. Let the oil companies sue us for restitution.
  • Inform Turkey that their responsibility as a NATO partner is to secure their borders, not from refugees, but from the transport of oil across their borders.
  • NATO countries should assist Turkey in setting up proper settlements for the refugees fleeing to the north.

The second source of funds comes from our “friends” in Saudi Arabia and the privileged Emirate states who are the primary source of funds for all the jihadists. Once again, at the center of our relationship is oil which is extracted for the benefit of these royal slugs by our Western oils companies. What should we do?

  • Demand that Saudi Arabia and the Emirates all accept refugees from a war they are profiting from.
  • If they refuse, we should withdraw our military support from the area and refuse to buy any oil from their domain…and prohibit Western countries from extracting the oil.
  • President Obama can then make this idea the centerpiece for his argument that Global Warming is a more critical national issue…at the expense, of course, of the tons of money the Saudis deposit into the accounts of all of our political leaders including his and the Clinton Foundation.

The third source of funds comes from sympathetic entities, including those in the United States…led by some mosques that preach and promote jihad. What should we do?

  • We certainly know which mosques would fit this characterization. Like the Israelis, we should monitor the mosques and remove those who promote jihad. Send them back to where they came from. Please do not give me the first amendment argument.

Finally, before we accept any refugees we should also:

  •  Determine where ISIL gets their weaponry and ammunition on the black market, and with black operations, terminate these  dealers.
  •  Let Russia have Syria and let them drive out ISIL.
  •  Let Iraq and the Kurds eliminate ISIL in Iraq.
  •  Politically, move all parties toward a partitioned Iraq between Sunni’s, Shia’s and Kurd’s.
  •  Keep our noses and our military equipment out of future Middle East conflicts.

Can we trust President Obama to provide leadership rather than be divisive?

  • His main advisor is Valerie Jarrett, an Iranian, who has stated that her goal is to bring Sharia Law to the United States. He has other advisors with roots in the Muslim Brotherhood.
  • John Kerry’s daughter married the chief negotiator’s son from Iran while both he and Kerry plotted the deal that was to be in our best interests.
  • Kumbaya!
