Eugene J. Olson, 87 left this world to join his wife and Jesus in heaven on Monday, December 14, 2015. He left a legacy of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren along with his love of golf and strong Christian faith.
Born in lake City, MN, he was the son of the late James and Katherine (Edwards) Olson. Eugene served his country in the Army Reserves for several years. He was an executive in the swimming pool chemical industry and was a member of the Brown Deer, WI Masonic Lodge and Republican Party.
Gene moved to The Villages from Milwaukee, WI in 1991. He was a member of St. George Episcopal Church and the Wisconsin Club in The Villages.
Besides his parents, Gene was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Joanne M. Olson in 2014, and a son, Paul Christopher Olson in 1999 and his sister Marilyn Brhely. He leaves a son, Denis Olson (Jane) of Cranberry Township, PA, daughter Lauren Werch (Chudley) of Jacksonville, FL, five grandchildren, Brittany, Jason, Daniel, Kristin Prycl (Norman), Amanda and two great grandchildren, Makayla and Mackenzie and brothers-in-law Frank Brhely of Wautoma, WI and Donovan Murphy (Irma) of Beloit, WI.
Funeral Services will be held in St. George Episcopal Church, The Villages on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Springs of Lady Lake, 620 Griffin Avenue, Lady Lake, FL 32159.
