Wayne passed away peacefully at home December 22, in The Villages, FL. He is survived by his wife, Sally Robbins Puls, his daughter, Susan Puls, and her husband, Craig Taylor. He had suffered with Alzheimer’s disease for many years. Born in Pueblo, CO on December 12, 1923 to Fred and Nora Puls, he grew up in San Leandro, California. He served in WWII as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific aboard the USS Dickerson as a radioman. While in the Navy, he later attended the University of Idaho, the University of Missouri and graduated from the University of Michigan. While in Colombia, MO Wayne met his future wife, Florence Wakeman, and they were married in Orlando, FL in 1947. He became a lifelong Floridian at that time and had a career initially with GMAC and subsequently in banking until he retired. He served as president of several banks in central and south Florida. After retirement he launched a new career as developer and manager of various outpatient surgical and medical facilities. He was an avid tennis player and walked for exercise several miles daily. He and Sally were married in 1970 and moved to The Villages in 2006 after many years in South Florida. Wayne Puls was a kind, charitable, intelligent and respected man through his life, a good father and husband. He is loved and will be missed. He leaves a wonderful legacy. We express gratitude to all those who loved and cared for him particularly during these last difficult years.
