
Stanley (Stan) l. Dudek, 87, The Villages, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2016. Born May 27, 1928 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late John and Katarzyna Dudek, he was the youngest of 9 children. He graduated from St. Patrick’s Catholic High School in Elizabeth, NJ.
He was employed by the A&P Tea Co. for 2 years until being drafted by the US Army during the Korean conflict. He then returned to work for the A&P Tea Co. for another 44 years.
He met his wife, Millie D’ambrosio, when she was shopping at the A&P. After marrying the “love of his life” they moved to Belford, NJ where they raised 5 children. They lived there for 39 years.
While traveling with their friends every year they all decided that they would retire together. One couple found The Villages of Lady Lake and within a span of 2 years, they all moved to Florida. Stan and Millie lived here for 20 years.
He enjoyed golf and bowling. He enjoyed playing mah jongg and pinochle with neighbors & friends. He was an avid Yankee and Giant fan and also had a love for horse racing.
He was a kind and gentle man who was very courageous and never complained about anything. He accepted whatever God gave him and never lost his faith.
Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his son, Joseph Dudek, sisters Nora Czyzewski, Helen Smietana, Mary Dudek, Antoinette Knazynski, Anna Nerwinski and an infant Mary Dudek, who died at birth and brother Joseph Dudek.
Surviving are his loving wife, Millie (D’ambrosio); Children: James (Lori) Dudek of Ship Bottom, NJ, Cathy (John) Cassidy of Jackson, NJ, Dina Trezza of Atlantic Highlands, NJ, and John Dudek of Winter Springs, FL; Grandchildren: Steven Trezza, Jacquelyn Cassidy, Matthew Trezza, Ryan Cassidy, Todd Dudek, Katie Dudek and Sarah Dudek; brother, Frank Dudek of Martinsville, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 4 – 6 p.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Lady Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 10 a.m.
