The TB Financial Group national softball team won the championship in the 70 Major Plus bracket at the 2016 SSUSA Tournament of Champions. The tournament was held Feb. 5 and 6 in Auburndale. The TB Financial team was the only team in their bracket so they were placed in the 65 Major bracket. They won their first bracket game 14 to 13 against a team from Windsor, Canada and lost the second game 19 to 9 against a team from San Antonio, Texas. Bad weather conditions forced the remaining games to be canceled.
The tournament MVP award was given to Dave Sellars (.857). TB Financial team also placed five players on the All-tournament team. The players were Ralph Hollis (.750), Roy Hern (.714), Gregg Foster (.643), John Ramage (.636) and Phil Biedronski (.600)
