The name Jerry Herman may not mean much to most people but his music is known worldwide.

Herman wrote the words and music to such hit shows as “Hello Dolly,” “Mame,” “La Cage aux Folles” and “Mack and Mabel.”

The Temple Shalom Sisterhood will honor Herman with an all-star cast of Villages’ performers Saturday, Feb. 27  at 7 p.m. The tribute concert will be held at Temple Shalom, 13563 County Rd. 101 in Oxford. Tickets are $12 for Temple members and $14 for the public.

Billie Thatcher and Jan Lavin both appeared in the production of “Mame” in The Villages. They will combine for a duet on “Bosom Buddies,” from “Mame.”

Carolyn Hoffman showcases her vocal prowess on the sultry and somber “Time Heals Everything” from “Mack and Mabel.”

Bill Davis and Woody Wood will join forces for a duet from “La Cage aux Folles,” while Lynne and Bruce Greenberger will lead a dance troupe in a variety of Jerry Herman numbers. Hector Garrido is musical director of the show.
