The Florida Highway Patrol has been called in to investigate a golf cart accident which took place Monday afternoon on a busy stretch of Morse Boulevard.
A woman who had been driving one of the golf carts was reportedly knocked from her golf cart and transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center. It did not appear that her golf cart was equipped with seatbelts. The windshield of her golf cart appeared to have been knocked out. A passenger in her golf cart was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital.

The driver of the other golf cart escaped injury.
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident at about 1 p.m. near the intersection of Morse Boulevard and Navarro Court, north of County Road 466. Deputies turned the investigation over to FHP.

This particular stretch of Morse Boulevard has been the subject of some controversy. A Villager petitioned the Sumter County Board last year to make changes to the busy thoroughfare. You can read more about her efforts HERE.
