Patricia Louise Rinaudo, age 71, of The Villages, FL, passed away on Saturday, 3/5/16 under the care of The Villages Hospice House, The Villages, FL. She was the wife of Frank Rinaudo for 50 years.
Born in Poughkeepsie, NY she was a daughter of the late Jack and Thelma Shopinsky. Prior to retiring she was a Secretary at Highland High School in Highland, NY. She was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, The Villages, FL where she and Frank were ushers. Prior to moving to The Villages she volunteered for 18 years in the pediatric department of Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. She and Frank volunteered at the Soup Kitchen at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Belleview, FL. Every year she would buy presents anonymously for the children at a local middle school working with the teachers making sure her gifts went to deserving children. In her life she was so much happier giving to others than receiving. Because of her outgoing and generous spirit she amassed a large extended family. Patricia loved her family and enjoyed cooking.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Frank and sons: Rick Rinaudo and his wife Marcia of West Chester, PA and Frank Rinaudo, Jr. and his wife Denise of Acworth, GA. She was the grandmother of Alex, Kyle, Ryan, Julia and Harrison. She is also survived by a brother, Ronald Shopinsky of Orlando, FL.
The visitation will be on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 3 – 6 p.m. at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, the Villages, FL on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. In Lieu of flowers the family prefers Masses at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Contributions to the Soup Kitchen at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Belleview, FL or the Cornerstone Hospice House, The Villages.
