As 66-year-old Del Webb Spruce Creek man will have to appear in court after he allegedly tried to take a tube of pain cream Monday from Wal-Mart in Summerfield.
At about noon Monday, Salvatore Quattrocchi entered the store and took a tube of pain cream out of a box, according to a report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. He put the tube in his pocket and the box back on the shelf. As he attempted to leave the store, he was stopped by a loss prevention officer. The officer asked for the return of the item, which Quattrocchi handed to him. Quattrocchi continued walking out of the store, got into his car and drove away. The loss prevention officer took down the license plate number. A detective went to Quattrocchi’s home and Quattrocchi admitted to taking the item. Quattrocchi was issued a notice to appear in court on a charge of petit theft.
