A 24-year-old Wildwood man was arrested Monday night after he allegedly attempted to steal two pair of boxer shorts from Dollar General on Main Street in Wildwood.
Kyle James Mentock entered the store at about 8 p.m. and attempted to conceal the boxer shorts in his backpack, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. The store manager called the police department.
When the officer asked Mentock how he was planning to pay for the boxer shorts, Mentock responded, “I don’t have any money.” A search of his backpack turned up a glass pipe for smoking marijuana and marijuana.
He was arrested and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $2,500 bond.
