The Amenity Authority Committee has accepted an invitation to resurrect the Multi-Modal Path Discussion Group.
The invitation was extended by the Project Wide Advisory Committee, which represents Community Development Districts 5 through 10. The AAC serves residents of The Villages living north of County Road 466.
The Multi-Modal Path Discussion Group last year tackled the issue of side striping of the paths. The group approved a $300,000 plan to put down striping along the sides of the paths, but shortly thereafter shelved the plan due to public outcry. Ultimately, the group moved ahead with enhanced markings at difficult-to-navigate points along the multi-modal paths.
AAC Chair Ann Forrester represented the AAC on the Multi-Modal Path Discussion Group and will continue to do so.
At a PWAC meeting earlier this year, PWAC discussed the possibility of examining the topic of signage through the resurrected Multi-Modal Path Discussion Group.
CDDs 1 through 4 have also received letters of invitation from PWAC. They will be discussing the invitation in their meetings on Friday.
If revived, the Multi-Modal Path Discussion Group could begin meeting as early as June or July.
