Carl D. Grossouw, The Villages, FL, formerly of Enfield CT, passed away April 2, 2016 at Cornerstone Hospice in Sumterville FL. Carl was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on May 9 1931. He moved to Enfield Ct in 1961 and became a US Citizen in 1976. Carl worked 15 years for Otis elevator Co. in Mass. and 18 years for Dexter Non-Woven Fabrics in Windsor Locks Ct. In 1994 he moved to Rotonda West, FL. and in 2004 to The Villages FL. He was a great sailor and camper and enjoyed archery, travel and golf.
He leaves his wife, Trudy of 6o year’s marriage. A son Bert Grossouw, Paula Vaillencourt, of Enfield CT, daughter Johanna Spychjak (deceased), grandson Jacob Grossouw of N.Y., granddaughter Tova Donohue of Boston and great grandson Joseph Donohue of Boston.
A celebration of his life will be held on April 18, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the New Covenant United Methodist Church at 370 Woodridge Drive, The Villages FL. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 3452 CR 526E, Sumterville, FL 33585
