Robbie Faye Betanzos, 74, passed from this life Friday, April 8th, 2016. She was born in Alexander City, AL on January 7th 1942, along with her twin brother, James. Robbie grew up in Sylacauga, AL, where she played the saxophone in the school band and began a Southern-inspired life enjoying all of the southern favorites such as sweet tea and grits. Robbie worked in the debt collections industry for numerous companies in the Atlanta area, before she moved to The Villages in the early 2000’s. She enjoyed classic TV and movies, big band music, shopping and family photography and she has always been strong in her Christian faith. She loved retiring to The Villages, FL, and the move was positively transformative in terms of furthering her happiness in the retirement years. Here she made many very close friends that ultimately became true, unconditional members of the extended family. Robbie is survived by her husband, Andres Betanzos, her two sons, Freddie Betanzos (Ashley), Michael A. Betanzos (Mikelle) and 1 granddaughter (Charlotte). Funeral Services will be held in Lawrenceville, GA with burial in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA April 15th.
