
Irving P. Maurer, age 96, of The Villages, FL, died on Tuesday May10, 2016. He was born in the Hudson Valley, NY on September 29, 1919.
Irving served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked at IBM until his retirement in 1985. Irving was married to his high school sweetheart (Irene Doyle) for 60 years until her death in 2001.
He has resided with his daughter and son-in-law (Dianne and Charlie Montafia) since then. They all moved to The Villages in 2007.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter (Dianne) and son-in-law (Charlie) and his great granddaughter Gabriella Montafia Rodriguez of Jacksonville, FL. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his parents Russell and Elizabeth Maurer, his three brothers Edward, Russell and Edgar Maurer. His twin grandsons also pre-deceased him (Michael Montafia 1984) and (Dominic Montafia 2004)
Mr. Maurer also leaves his sisters-in-law Kathleen Maurer and Ruth Doyle and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass for Christian Burial will be held in Delray Beach, FL with internment at the Boynton Beach Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers you may make a donation in his name to Cornerstone Hospice House, The Villages, FL.
A Memorial Mass officiated by his grandnephew Father Jeffrey Maurer, will be held at a later date for his family in Port Ewen, NY.
