After a month of play, the Central Florida League season title is still up for grabs.
Softball’s R Game remains on top of the league with a convincing victory over Harlan Insurance 14-3.
SRG was led by Bob Buchanan who drove in 4 runs with a pair of doubles, a single, and a home run. Dan Kincaid and Jack Marx had 3 hits while Rick Duemler, Al Mahar, Ray Bedford, Bill Nisbet, Jim Harrison and Jim Joseph had a pair of hits each. Harlan scored all their runs in the top of the third inning. Dick Petulla, Sante Tulli, Charles Clare, and Bob Whiteley all hit safely and Dave Pope hit a sacrifice fly to drive in the last run. Whiteley, Tulli, Pete Glowacki, and Joe DeGeorge all had 2 hits in the loss.
Buffalo Crossing bounced back from last week’s loss to defeat Synergy Wealth 15-11.
Woody Wood led Buffalo with 4 hits. Tom Winegarden had 3 hits and drove in 4 runs. Adding two hits for Buffalo were: Don Brozick, Bill Reed, Duane Miller, Ron Goldman, and Manny Sanchez. Sanchez had a 2 run homer in the fifth. Synergy got two hits each from: Jack Coit, Vernon Brooks, John Barracato, Dave Williams, Rick Fredieu, John Reedy, and RogerDuncan.
Fross & Fross scored 10 unanswered runs in the first two innings and held on to defeat Mulberry Integrative Medicine 15-11.
Bud Ramsey led Fross with 4 hits, while Jim Morton, Al Deibler, and Tom McGann had 3 each. Chuck Alexander had a 2 run homer in the first inning. Mulberry’s Bob Roth and Bob Jacques went 3 for 3. Terry Cecil, Denis Hodge, R.J. Jackson, Chuck Bowman, and Rick Mosher all had 2 hits in the loss.
Babiarz Law took sole possession of 2nd place with their win over IHOP 17-8.
This contest took 8 innings to complete as it was tied at 7 after 7 innings. Babiarz was led by Paul Justice and Tom Aldridge who each had 4 hits and a sacrifice fly. Ed Haith, Bob Green, and Jim Creed contributed 3 hits each. IHOP’s lead off man Jim Fetela went 4 for 5. Craig Dahlquist added 3hits. Ken Atkinson, Dave Oatley, and Wendy Hartfeil each had a pair of hits in the loss.
